Weekly Update 1 - Polishing routes and adding small events


Hello, everyone! I hope you're all doing well.

The game's almost at 600 downloads now, so I thought I'd give you both another big thank you and a progress update! As most of my development time will now be restricted to some evenings and weekends, I'm going to try and get the bulk of my weekly artwork done on the weekends and I'll polish the scripts during week days.

This week's progress includes the following highlights:

  • Fixed the quick menu in the game's full version so that it no longer jumps/twitches when you move into dialogue you haven't seen before. This hasn't been updated in the demo as I didn't want to push another version with such a tiny fix, but if I find more issues in the demo, I'll add it!
  • Finished polishing Toby's route. Now it just needs its final CGs, one extra background, and QA.
  • Started polishing Devlin's route. Planned out student union oriented events/simple mini games and began implementing them.
  • Did research into launching the full commercial game on Itch and/or Steam.

Here's a sneak peek of one of the union events/mini games that I've added! I'll try to upload a video of it on Twitter for indiedevhour that I'll link to either in this dev log or next weekend's.
